"I have written
several times that those at the helm of affairs should give report of their
stewardship and I am happy that our Governor is doing it. So, I thank you
on the State of the State and let it continue like that. Every
year in the US, the President
gives the State of the Union address and it is good that we are doing same in Ekiti State.
It is good to explain
and I thank the Governor for explaining."
"I am very much
pleased with what I
have
been seeing in Ekiti
State since we left the
stage. I am
particularly pleased with what has happened in the last one year plus. I told the
Governor quite plainly that he is on the right track and if he keeps doing what
he has been doing and you Ekiti people give peace a chance, the task of making
Ekiti State a better place will be achieved sooner than later."

"I am
happy to say that this government has been very passionate about the welfare of
pensioners. I hereby
confirm that on the 20th of the month, my pension is paid and on behalf of all
of us the 'young' pensioners, I commend Governor Segun Oni for this."
"He has done very well. Please, all
Ekiti indigenes should support him. From what we have seen today, I am proud of
him. He has also selected the best hands to work with him. Ben Oguntuase, the
man that has been speaking with us, you may not know him. When he was in the
university, he was one of the best students. He was called Big Ben then."
"I only heard
about Engr. Segun Oni before the run-up to the 2007 general elections about two
years ago. Since then, however, I have had the opportunity of seeing him at
close quarters and I have discussed with him.
knowledge of
him before he became the Governor and now that he is the Governor shows that he
is a super gentleman, a practicing Christian with good family background,. a highly
cultured man with tremendous respect for our traditional values, a highly
gifted, intelligent and witty man who always keeps his cool no matter the heat
and a respectful
man who has never allowed the high office to get into his head. His respect for
people of all ages particularly the elders is intimidating.
Since his
coming to power about twenty months ago, Governor Segun Oni has made remarkable
achievements in spite of the numerous and frightening problems that he
inherited from the previous administrations and distractions by his detractors.
When you succeed into a society where there had been different orientations
about governance, you will be faced with the difficult task of reorientation. In
spite of all, he has made tremendous progress and impact
particularly
in the areas of education, peace, health, agriculture, general
infrastructural
developments and so on"
